Identify some moments in your life when you thought something was going to happen, but something else happened that was unexpected. At times we deal with these events well and at other times perhaps not so well. How did you respond “in the moment” to these experiences? What do these responses tell you about yourself and your potential abilities as a facilitator? 3. Process often appears to be chaotic but does have an internal organization. In group work that you have experienced from a participant perspective, what roles have you observed being taken in the process that either hold the process up or move it forward?

The facilitator provides the means for a group to engage meaningfully with a given topic or issue through drama, but keeps the process open to participant input at all times. Finally, a facilitator is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment.
